IRA Mandatory Distribution
Money from an individual retirement account can be donated to charity. What’s more, if you’ve reached the age where you need to take required minimum distributions (RMDs) from your traditional IRAs, you can save on taxes on them by donating that money to Bridgercare.Stock
Donating stock is one of the most tax-smart ways to give! By donating stock that has appreciated more than a year, you are actually giving 20% more than if you sold the stock and then made a cash donation. Click here to read our one-pager for more information on how to give stock. -
Including Bridgercare in your Will
Whether you are new to making a will or a seasoned expert in the world of estate planning, you have the option of leaving a legacy for Bridgercare by including us in your will or living trust. This is a gift that will cost you nothing during your lifetime, but can make all the difference in the world for generations to come. YOU can make sure that all people have access to affordable, affirming, and empowering sexual healthcare no matter happens in the future. Endowment
Bridgercare’s endowment is currently small, but absolutely full of potential! This is a permanent fund and we only spend the interest. It is currently held and managed by the One Valley Community Foundation. We would love to grow this fund because our federal and state funding is consistently being threatened. This endowment can ensure that Bridgercare is here for the long run for all patients, no matter the leadership at the state or federal level.You can save up to $15,000 on your Montana taxes while also supporting Bridgercare! The state offers a special tax credit to encourage donating to local nonprofits' endowment funds. In summary, you would make a planned gift (ex: donating stock into a 5 year Charitable Gift Annuity). You would then receive a 40% tax credit on that donation for that tax year! You can receive up to $15,000 in tax credits per individual and $30,000 for a couple every year, which usually equates to a gift of around $30,000. This can be done annually if you'd like to build it into your yearly giving and tax plan!

I’ve been a fan of Bridgercare since I moved to Montana in 2007, and a financial supporter for the last several years. It is deeply important to me that all people but especially women have access to the healthcare and support that they need to make the best choice for themselves, particularly in regards to family planning. The ability to choose when to have kids (or not!) is critical to empowering women to be their best selves and live their best lives.
After my sister came out as trans in 2018, I’ve come to extra appreciate the bright spot Bridgercare brings to the queer community. A safe space to understand different sexualities and/or for adults of any age to pursue gender affirming care; their teen clinic and peer educator program are something I wish I’d had at that age and I love that Bozeman has such an amazing offering.
In a world that feels a little bit scarier each day, it brings me immense comfort to know that Bridgercare is behind all people that are important to me, every step of the way.

As my son went through school, I ended up being the mom a lot of his friends came to when they had questions about dating and relationships in general. While I was comfortable having these discussions, I would send the kids to Bridgercare, knowing they would not be embarrassed to ask additional questions. We have been supporters of Bridgercare for more than two decades because we believe that teens, as well as adults, should have access to high-quality sexual education and health care on a sliding scale. Jerry volunteers regularly to help package tens of thousands of condoms each year.

I value how Bridgercare excels at providing outstanding care in a compassionate, non-judgmental setting free of financial stress, all of which is unfortunately rare in today’s broader healthcare system.
