Medical Practicums

  • Due to concerns over patient privacy and HIPAA regulations, only medical practicum students are allowed to work directly with patients. If you are a current RN, NP or PA student in need of credit hours as part of your course work, please contact Elly Webster at ewebster@bridgercare.org to learn more about upcoming placement opportunities.

  • Please send an email to Elly Webster at ewebster@bridgercare.org with the following:

    • Resume

    • Total number of hours needed

    • Total number of hours needed weekly/number of weeks

    • Preferred dates for practicum

  • Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Bridgercare’s ability to accommodate you will depend on staff capacity and timing.

Undergraduate Internship Program FAQs

  • Yes, Bridgercare interns are considered temporary employees and are paid $15.00 per hour. Internships have set start and end dates.

  • This internship does not offer any direct medical experience, but we encourage people interested in medicine to apply as it is a great way to get a peek behind the curtain of clinical operations and learn more about community needs!

    • The schedule is flexible and determined in coordination with your supervisor based on organizational needs and your availability. Hours may vary week to week. Interns work on a variety of projects, which may include attending tabling events, supporting clinic initiatives, writing blogs, running errands, and participating in weekly sex education trainings.

  • We expect interns to work 8-10 hours per week. We cannot accommodate schedules exceeding 20 hours per week.

  • We take two interns per semester and typically receive 6 or more applications per period. We welcome you to apply more than once! Strong candidates who are not selected for the current term may be considered for future opportunities.
